Washington D.C. – Congressman Denver Riggleman gave a speech on the floor of the House of Representatives opposing the attempt by Democrats to strip the President of his authority to use military force in the Middle East. Before coming to Congress, Rep. Riggleman worked with the National Security Agency to protect troops serving in the Middle East and North Africa.

Washington D.C.–This morning Congressman Denver Riggleman introduced H.R.5699, the Voluntary Checkoff Program Participation Act. The bill would make Department of Agriculture check-off programs voluntary. These programs require producers to pay into a fund that is then used to hire outside marketing firms to promote their specific industries, such as milk, beef, and poultry. These programs take money directly from farmers profits and often provide little return on investment.

I have great news for the 5th District to share this week. Yesterday, the Senate passed the United States– Mexico– Canada Trade Agreement. You may remember we passed the USMCA out of the House in December, and now it will go to the President to be signed into law. The USMCA’s passage is a big win for America and the 5th District. The USMCA will create upwards of 176,000 jobs, expand America's trading partnership with Mexico and Canada, and help producers in the 5th District.
