Press Release: Congressman Denver Riggleman Opposes Pay Raise for House
WASHINGTON – Congressman Denver Riggleman tweeted his opposition to the proposed Congressional pay raise on Monday morning. The proposed pay raise would increase the salaries of members of Congress by $4,500 dollars (or 2.58%percent).
“The proposed Congressional pay raise is another example of members of Congress losing touch with the people they serve. Congress isn’t doing their job so why are they getting a pay raise?,” said Congressman Riggleman. “Washington needs more transparency and accountability, more people with real-world experience and fewer DC insiders- that is why I supported term limits for members and oppose this pay increase.”
