Congressman Riggleman Urges Congress to Pass the USMCA
WASHINGTON D.C. - Congressman Denver Riggleman gave a Facebook Live address on Wednesday where he asked Speaker Nancy Pelosi to bring the USMCA trade agreement to the floor for a vote. Congressman Riggleman is a strong supporter of the agreement which will allow for the creation of jobs in the 5th District of Virginia and grow the economy nationwide.
"I have talked to members of Congress, many many times, on the Republican side and the Democratic side," said Congressman Riggleman. "We certainly have enough votes to ratify the USMCA. However, at this time, Nancy Pelosi refuses to bring it on the floor."
Every day of delay by Congress hurts American consumers and businesses. If we do not ratify the USMCA the U.S. will lose out on more jobs, more customers, and a stronger economy.

Hello, everyone! The United States of America needs The United States, Mexico, Canada Agreement. Specifically, the 5th District needs the USMCA. I have talked to members of Congress, many many times, on the Republican side and the Democratic side, and we certainly have enough votes to ratify the USMCA. However, at this time, Nancy Pelosi refuses to bring it on the floor. If we do not ratify the USMCA, the US will lose out on more jobs; specifically, upwards of 176,000 jobs.
Mexico also supports our trade with Mexico about 12 million jobs in The United States. Right now, in the Fifth District, we have issues with dairy, timber, tobacco. All of these things need to happen as we go forward and do in the USMCA. We can’t seem to get anything on the floor. We also had 4.5 billion dollars in humanitarian assistance for the border blocked when Mike Rogers tried to put it in because we have a crisis on the border.
In the next couple of weeks, this is going to become a real thing. Not only the USMCA, but we also have another bill which was the 4.5 billion dollars for the crisis on the border. All of these are not happening because we are talking about things that are silly. So, what I ask the 5th District to do is help me to get these bills passed. Support us as we are going forward and I will continue to work with you everyday. Please call me anytime. Please get in touch with our offices as we go forward. But I promise, I will continue to work for the Fifth. We will try our best to get the USMCA on the floor, to get that humanitarian system to the border, and also make sure that we get a secure border so we can help our citizens. Thank you very much and have a great day.
