Press Release

Washington D.C.—Congressman Denver Riggleman has been named to the  House GOP Leader’s China Task Force which will develop policies, ideas, and legislative strategy to combat the threat posed by the Chinese Communist Party. China’s failure to disclose information and spread disinformation in the initial stages of the COVID-19 outbreak have played a critical role in preventing the pandemic and need to be investigated.

"It is an honor to be named to the China Task Force by GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy. Communist China has absolutely lied about #COVID19 and their deceitful actions have cost American lives,” said Congressman Riggleman. "I will work with President Donald Trump to hold China accountable. They need to be taken to task for their dangerous behavior."

GOP Leader McCarthy: “Denver is an excellent addition to the China Task Force. Having served in the Air Force and been a leader in the private sector on cyber crimes, he knows the national security world inside and out and can speak to emerging issues related to technology. He also has firsthand knowledge of just how exposed our medical supply chains are to CCP interference, and admirably took the initiative to use his family distillery to create hand sanitizer for frontline workers. Denver will be a strong voice on this committee for the truth and he will work hard to make sure our country comes out of this pandemic stronger, healthier, and safer."

Other members include GOP Conference Chairwoman Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) and Reps. Jim Banks (R-Ind.), Andy Barr (R-Ky.), John Curtis (R-Utah), Anthony Gonzalez (R-Ohio), Darin LaHood (R-Ill.), Mike Gallagher (R-Wis.), John Joyce (R-Pa.), Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.), Guy Reschenthaler (R-Pa.), Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Tx.), Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.), Chris Stewart (R-Utah) and Michael Waltz (R-Fla.).
