Last night I took a very difficult vote. Not difficult to decide on, but difficult to comprehend. H.Res. 183 was a resolution that passed the House last night condemning anti-Semitism as contradictory to the values of the United States. This is the second time we’ve had a resolution like this in the House of Representatives and I find it appalling that it takes a resolution from Congress to decide this. We also voted on H.R. 1, a Democratic bill that would weaken the voting system of the American people and take over elections D.C. Democrat style. This bill is a hog trough for swamp pigs.

This week I partnered with Collin Peterson (D-MN) to sponsor a very important bill: The Ensuring Lasting Smiles Act (ELSA). This bill closes a healthcare coverage gap for children born with congenital anomalies or birth defects. On Tuesday, I met with Kannon Koser and his family who live in my district. 3-year-old Kannon was born with a congenital anomaly which makes him unable to chew. This bill would help Kannon get the care he needs.

On Tuesday morning, I attended a healthcare roundtable in Charlottesville to learn from experts how to bests address healthcare issues in the 5th district.

This week we held a committee meeting entitled: Homeless in America: Examining the crisis and solutions to end Homelessness. My Republican colleagues and I are pushing for a comprehensive approach to addressing the many challenges in this issue. I believe it is important to review all government programs that address homelessness to determine if they are effective and efficient measures that address the problem.
