On the Hill with Denver Riggleman-Weekly Update- August 2, 2019

August 2, 2019

This week I traveled to the U.S. - Mexico border as part of a congressional delegation to learn about the conditions there. We started in El Paso where we toured a Border Patrol facility and were able to ride along with agents as they patrolled the border at night.  It was an eye-opening experience and I was encouraged to see the professionalism displayed by our border patrol agents.  You can watch my video from that night here.

Later on in the trip we met with the Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb who briefed us on the drug smuggling operations that run through the border and into our cities and communities.  I am very grateful for the work that our sheriffs and boarder patrol officers do to keep all of us safe.

I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to witness first hand the work that is being done at our southern border to keep Americans safe.  I promise to take the lessens learned on this trip and apply them when debating the issues we face regarding  security and immigration here in congress. Click the picture below to watch a video I recorded discussing the different types of border wall we encountered.
